Emmanuel Che, Sacramento, CA— Emmanuel Che passed away on November 12th, 2024, leaving behind a grieving family and community. Emmanuel, originally from Weh in the Menchum Division of Cameroon, was a dedicated educator and a loving husband and father. He was only 30 years old.
Emmanuel moved to the United States in September 2022, with his wife Rejoice and their young daughter Savannah. Despite facing several challenges, including health struggles and financial hardships, Emmanuel remained steadfast in his pursuit of better opportunities for his family.
In the months leading up to his death, Emmanuel was undergoing treatment for lymphoma, alongside complications with his kidneys and liver. After several weeks of hospitalization, his health deteriorated rapidly. Rejoice received the heartbreaking news from the doctors at UC Davis Medical Health Center in Sacramento that Emmanuel’s condition had worsened, and he passed away in the early hours of November 12th.
Currently, Rejoice and their daughter are facing financial difficulties, with funeral costs being an additional burden. A GoFundMe campaign has been set up to support the family during this difficult time. Rejoice hopes to continue her chef assistance training and find work to support herself and her daughter after the funeral.
The Che family’s struggle has resonated with the community, and many have rallied around them, offering their support in any way they can. Emmanuel’s legacy as a loving father and dedicated educator will continue to live on through those who knew him.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the Che family during this challenging time.
