Eileen Archibald, Venice, CA — The Venice community is mourning the loss of Eileen Archibald, who passed away on July 9, 2024. Eileen was a beloved neighbor, friend, sister, aunty, grandma, and a compassionate Elder in the community, often referred to as Venice’s Original Pixie and O.G. Original Grandma. Her presence brought comfort and joy to those around her, and her loss is deeply felt by many.
Becky Dennison has organized a fundraiser on behalf of Original Save Venice to celebrate Eileen’s life. The goal is to raise $5,000 to support the event and any excess funds will be donated to the Community Corporation of Santa Monica (CCSM) for the rehabilitation of the First Baptist Church of Venice (FBCV) and future affordable housing units.
The community has come together to contribute to the fundraiser, with $160 raised so far from five donations. Contributions from Ceci Gross, Maile Earlywine, Desiree Gomez, Kathleen Bryant, and Rebecca Dennison highlight the collective effort to honor Eileen’s memory.
A celebration of Eileen’s life is scheduled for Sunday, August 25, 2024, at 3:00 pm at the First Baptist Church of Venice, located at 685 Westminster Ave, Venice, CA 90291. The community is invited to join and pay their respects to a cherished member who brought light and wisdom to their lives.
Eileen’s laughter, sage advice, and nurturing presence will be dearly missed, but her spirit will continue to inspire those who knew her. Her memory will be honored through the continued efforts to dance, celebrate, and support the causes she cared about.
