Douglas Grissom, Salem, IN— Douglas Grissom passed away earlier this year, leaving behind a community that cherished him for his kind heart and willingness to help others. Despite not always being on the best terms with some, his generosity and compassion were widely recognized.
In recent weeks, it came to light that some costs related to his funeral were not covered as previously thought. While a headstone had been ordered out of goodwill, the remaining balance for engraving had not been settled. As a result, a fundraiser was launched to raise the necessary funds to properly honor Douglas with a respectful memorial.
Dominique Padilla, who is organizing the fundraiser, spoke about the challenge of covering the remaining costs. "Dougie was known and loved by many. He did a lot for others and just had a big heart. We want to ensure he has a headstone above his grave so his loved ones can visit him," said Padilla. So far, the community has generously contributed a total of $2,130 towards the goal.
The fundraiser has received contributions from many, including a $1,500 donation from Beian Campbell and $200 from both Andrew Wise and Melissa Hazelwood. As the campaign continues, the hope is to reach the remaining amount required to cover the engraving.
Douglas Grissom’s legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. His passing has left a void, but the outpouring of support from friends and family serves as a testament to the impact he had on so many lives.
We are deeply saddened by the passing of Douglas Grissom. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his loved ones during this difficult time.
