Following his service, he pursued his education at Howard University, where he earned a degree in Accounting, later becoming a successful entrepreneur in various fields including real estate, consulting, and grant writing. His passion for spirituality led him to author several self-published books, sharing his wisdom and insights with others.
Douglas is remembered for his infectious laugh, business acumen, and his deep love for his family. He is survived by his children, Melissa Goldson and Bennie Mayberry, and his grandchildren, Ashley Goldson and Alex Navarro-Powell.
