Donnamarie Scipione, Plainview, NY—It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Donnamarie Scipione. She was just 43 years old, a woman who faced immense medical challenges throughout her life but lived with incredible resilience and grace.
Donnamarie began dialysis at the tender age of 15, a journey that would define much of her life. Despite two failed kidney transplants by the age of 19, she remained steadfast, enduring dialysis three times a week for several hours each session. Her strength was further tested when, at 40, she faced respiratory failure, leading to an extended hospital stay of 176 days, during which her hands were amputated due to complications.
Her husband, Frank Gulli, devoted himself to her care, stepping back from his career to be by her side. Sadly, on July 31st, 2024, Donnamarie’s battle came to an end as she passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of courage and determination.
In honor of Donnamarie, a fundraiser has been organized by her husband, Frank Gulli, to support her memorial. The goal is set at $30,000, and the community is encouraged to contribute to remember and celebrate Donnamarie’s life.
We extend our deepest condolences to Frank and all who knew and loved Donnamarie. May she rest in peace, free from the pain and struggles she endured with such dignity.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Frank and the entire Scipione family during this difficult time.
