Don Pierce, Friendsville, TN — It is with deep sorrow that we share the passing of Don Pierce, affectionately known as “Pop,” who passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family and his loyal dog, Theo. Don’s death followed a long and courageous battle with health complications due to exposure to heavy metals during his career as a Civil Engineer at Oak Ridge National Laboratory.
Don’s heart finally gave out, bringing an end to his adventurous life. He was a man of many talents, deeply loved by his wife, Deborah ("Debbie"), and cherished by all who knew him. His passions included fishing, hunting, cooking, and storytelling. Don was a beacon of joy, laughter, and friendship, and his ability to connect with others left an indelible mark on his family, friends, and colleagues.
In the wake of his passing, a fundraiser has been set up by Callie Bladow to support the family during this difficult time. The funds raised will help cover burial and medical expenses, as well as support the celebration of Don’s life. The goal is also to assist Debbie as she faces this profound loss and adjusts to life without Don.
The community has been invited to join in celebrating Don’s memory and supporting his family. Any contribution, no matter how small, is greatly appreciated.
We offer our deepest condolences to the Pierce family during this challenging time.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you, Don, and your loved ones. May your legacy continue to inspire.
