Galveston, TX— Dionicio Perpuac, a 21-year-old from Guatemala, tragically passed away on November 14 during a fishing trip in the Gulf of Mexico near Galveston. His sudden passing has left his family in Guatemala grieving deeply as they await his body to bid him a final farewell and provide a Christian burial.
Dionicio came to the United States in search of a brighter future for himself and his family. Over the past year and a half, he worked diligently at DODO’S Chicken restaurant, earning the respect and admiration of his colleagues for his dedication and positive attitude. On his day off, while fishing with friends, he tragically lost his life, leaving his dreams unfulfilled and his family mourning his loss.
To assist in repatriating Dionicio’s body to Guatemala, a fundraiser has been organized by Sara Jerez on GoFundMe with a goal of $15,000. The funds will help cover transportation and funeral expenses. As of now, the campaign is seeking its first donors.
