Dennis Cropper, Wattle Grove, NSW— Dennis Cropper, a cherished husband, father, and friend, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with illness. Dennis was a descendant of the Kamilaroi/Wayilwan tribe and was born in Warren, NSW, to Veronica Darcy and Michael Cropper. He was the eldest of six children, known for his adventurous spirit and a love for playing football during his younger years.
After joining the Navy before his sixteenth birthday, Dennis trained in underwater weapons and traveled to various places, forming lifelong friendships. Later, he shifted to land-based work, including truck driving and factory jobs, all while raising children and sharing his life with his soulmate, Theresa.
In recent years, Dennis faced multiple health challenges, including a rare cancer near his groin and the amputation of his right leg. His fight continued with a diagnosis of cancer in his oesophagus, followed by radiation and years of pain. Most recently, he was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer, which spread to his sternum and spine, and he was transferred to palliative care. Dennis spent his final days in the care of his devoted wife, Theresa, with whom he was married after 35 years together.
Dennis’s legacy lives on in the memories of all those who knew him. He will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and the many lives he touched.
We are deeply saddened to learn of Dennis Cropper’s passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time.
