Denis Houle, Hobe Sound, FL—The community is mourning the loss of Denis Houle, who passed away on Tuesday, October 1st, 2024, at 2:32 pm. Denis spent his final days under the care of Treasure Coast Hospice, where he took his last breath, leaving behind his loving wife, Penny Jackson, who was by his side nearly every moment.
Denis had endured a long battle with melanoma, with five tumors diagnosed in his brain in January 2020. Despite undergoing brain surgery, cyber knife treatments, and a year of immunotherapy, the cancer returned, spreading to his cranial and spinal fluid. Unable to receive further treatment, Denis spent his final days in hospice care, where he was supported by his devoted wife. Penny, who recently suffered a fractured pelvic bone, is now in a rehabilitation hospital herself, facing a challenging road ahead.
A proud U.S. Army veteran, Denis is eligible for burial at the National Cemetery in Lake Worth, FL. Penny Jackson has organized a fundraiser to cover the cremation and related expenses, as she is currently unable to do so on her own. Her heartfelt plea seeks help from anyone able to contribute, including Denis’ friends from the Army and his colleagues in the HVAC industry.
Though the fundraiser has just begun, the community is invited to show their support in helping Denis receive an honorable farewell.
We extend our deepest sympathies to Penny Jackson and all who knew and loved Denis Houle. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this time of loss.
