Dee Camp, a cherished member of the Sedro-Woolley, WA community, passed away on August 18th at Swedish Hospital after a courageous three-month battle with an aggressive strain of cancer. Dee, who was 43 years old, spent her life dedicated to journalism, serving as a reporter and editor for The Chronicle newspaper. Her passion for her work, along with her love for her family, cooking, baking, sewing, the outdoors, good books, and cats, endeared her to many.
Dee’s passing has left a void in the lives of those who knew and loved her. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Al, her son Doug and his spouse Andrea, and her beloved cat, Ansel. Her final wishes included no funeral or celebration of life event, but her family is working to honor her by fulfilling her last requests.
In light of the significant medical expenses and other end-of-life costs, a fundraiser has been organized by Andrea Paulson to help cover these expenses and properly honor Dee’s memory. The goal is to raise $10,000, and although no donations have been made yet, the community is encouraged to contribute to this effort.
Dee’s legacy as a dedicated journalist and her love for her family and community will not be forgotten. We extend our deepest sympathies to Dee’s family during this difficult time.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family, Dee. May you rest in peace.
