Decola Williams, Beaumont, TX – Community Comes Together to Honor Trucker’s Memory

Decola Williams, also known affectionately as Cowboy Smiley, has left behind a grieving family and community in Beaumont, TX. On August 15, his family was faced with a tragic loss that has deeply affected those who knew and loved him.

Cowboy Smiley, as he was known in the trucking community, was a beloved figure, known for his dedication and the warmth he brought to everyone around him. Despite his preference for cremation, his family and fellow truckers have decided to honor him with a funeral befitting his legacy as a trucker. The decision to give him a proper burial comes from the desire to celebrate his life in a manner that resonates with those he left behind.

A fundraiser organized by Shuntell Bill has been set up to assist with the burial expenses, as well as to support the three children he left behind. The goal is to raise $10,000, and as of today, $1,695 has been raised through the generosity of 19 donors. Notable contributions include $300 from Ryan Frey, the top donation, and $200 from Joseph Howard, the most recent donor. The first donation of $250 was made by Royal B offline.

The family and organizers are reaching out to the community for further support, emphasizing the importance of mental health awareness and encouraging those who struggle with depression to seek help. The love and respect Decola brought to his community will be honored through this effort, as his family strives to lay him to rest with the dignity he deserves.
