Debbie Wilkins Holmstrom, a cherished member of her family, passed away peacefully on October 5th, surrounded by her loved ones. Her family has now come together to honor her final wishes with a fundraiser organized by her granddaughter, Kora Krowlek, to help cover the costs of the funeral and cremation.
Debbie’s journey took a heartbreaking turn when, five years ago, a CT scan revealed a tumor that she was never informed about. Only after being hospitalized in December due to confusion did her family learn of the condition. Surgery was performed to remove most of the tumor, but some of it remained, continuing to grow and affecting her daily life.
Her daughter, Jen, and her granddaughters stepped in to care for her during these difficult times, moving Debbie to Lacon to be closer to her family. Despite their hopes for her recovery, the tumor’s impact was too great, and Debbie’s health continued to decline.
Debbie’s passing has left her family seeking support to provide her the farewell she deserved. Without life insurance, they are relying on the generosity of friends and family to help with the expenses. As of now, donations have begun to come in, including contributions from Judith Hoskins, Susan Hirt, David Art, Jennifer Art, and Angie McIntyre, totaling $520.
The love and care shown to Debbie throughout her life and in her final moments is a testament to the deep bond she shared with her family. She will be dearly missed.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Debbie Wilkins Holmstrom’s family as they navigate this difficult time.
