David passed peacefully on October 20, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. His recent struggles with acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), exacerbated by severe lung complications, ultimately led his family to make the difficult decision to let him pass without prolonged suffering.

David had turned 60 on September 10, just a month before he was brought to the hospital. Despite his service in the military, he had no financial safety net, insurance, or assets, leaving his family to navigate these challenges without financial support. In this difficult time, David’s daughter, Brianna Austin, has started a fundraiser to cover his memorial and cremation expenses, expressing deep gratitude for the outpouring of love from friends, family, and even those who knew David in passing.
