David Lee, St. Louis, MO—The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department is mourning the loss of one of its own. Officer David Lee tragically passed away after being struck by a vehicle while responding to an accident on I-70. This heartbreaking incident took place on Sunday, September 22, 2024.
Officer David Lee, a traffic officer with the department, was 44 years old. He is survived by his wife, Tonya Lee, with whom he shared 19 years of marriage. The Ferguson Fire Department expressed their deep sorrow, posting on Facebook, "It is with a heavy heart that we inform you of the passing of a member of our law enforcement family, Officer David Lee from the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and the entire SLMPD."
A fundraiser has been organized by Patrick Mahomes to support Tonya Lee in covering funeral expenses.
