David Alan Schuetz, Lennon, MI—David Alan Schuetz, aged 56, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, November 28, 2024, at his home. His sudden passing has left his family and friends in profound grief.
David was a well-known figure in his community, having built a career as a truck driver. Over the years, he earned numerous awards in his field, driving across the United States and Canada to support his family. David was passionate about the outdoors, ghost hunting, golfing, and trains, and he deeply cherished the time spent with his family.
In addition to his trucking career, David was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He was married to his wife Kim in June 2024, after the loss of his first wife, Dawn, in 2022. Together, they shared many happy moments, surrounded by their children and 18 grandchildren.
David is survived by his loving wife Kim, children Darla (Nathan) Gottman, Dianna (Dennis) Elliot, Amanda (Brian) Schneck, Kenneth (Amanda) Schuetz, Justin (Trisha) Schuetz, Nathan Lawrence, Marcie Hathon, Christopher (Emilee) Darling, and Abby Lawrence, as well as his 18 grandchildren, three sisters, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his late wife Dawn, his parents Elizabeth (Marie) and Alfred Schuetz, and stepson Ryan Lawrence.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, December 1, 2024. The date may change depending on the arrangements. A fundraiser has been set up to assist with memorial expenses, with over $300 raised so far.
