Regina, Saskatchewan—It is with heavy hearts that the family and loved ones of Darren James Welch announce his passing on August 5, 2024. Born on October 22, 1958, in Regina, Darren was known for his kind heart and the deep bonds he formed with both people and animals alike.
Though Darren was sometimes misunderstood, those who knew him well recognized his generosity and loyalty. He was the type of person who would give you the shirt off his back, and if he called you a friend, he loved you fiercely. His unique connection with animals, especially cats, dogs, and horses, was one of the many qualities that made him special.
Darren is survived by his loving sister, Stephanie Welch, and his nieces Andrea Hansen (Ron Schank) and Tabitha Taylor (Kevin Taylor). He also leaves behind his great-niece, Kennedy Fowler, and great-nephews, Sebastian Schank and Kingston Fowler. In his final days, Darren was surrounded by the love of his family and many friends, including Mike and Karen Cove, Cory and Dawn Ginnis, who all cherished him deeply.
