Craig Pittman, Sydney, NS—Craig Pittman passed away on Sunday, September 22nd, 2024. Known for his kind heart and sense of humor, Craig touched the lives of many in his community, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and friendship.
Craig, a native of Whitney Pier and a graduate of Sydney Academy in 1999, built his life around strong relationships. His work across various roles at Radioshack/The Source, Shaw Brick, USL Concrete, Pet Valu, Total Recycling, Giant Tiger, and most recently Canada Post, was marked by the many friendships he formed. Craig was known for his tireless work ethic, often working multiple jobs to support his family. His recent achievement of purchasing a new home with his wife, Crystal, was one of the proud milestones of their life together.
Terry Allen, a lifelong friend of Craig, has organized a fundraiser to provide financial support for Craig’s widow, Crystal, and his stepson, Lucas. The loss of Craig has left Crystal facing the challenging reality of being the sole breadwinner while managing everyday expenses. The community has already shown an outpouring of support, with donations from friends and well-wishers such as Melanie Ling, Amber McLaine, Ashley Pittman, Shailyn Kokoski, and Jenna Pinhorn.
As Terry mentioned in the fundraiser, Craig was always ready to help others, and now is the time for the community to rally around his family. The grief and emotional toll have been immense, but the love and support from those who knew him continue to uplift Crystal and Lucas in this difficult time.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to the Pittman family. Our thoughts and prayers are with Crystal, Lucas, and all who loved Craig as they navigate this painful chapter.
