Charlie Hall, Manteca, CA—It is with great sadness that the family of Charlie Hall announces his passing. Charlie, who was known for his strength, love, and selflessness, passed away on September 27th, 2024, after a long battle with kidney disease. Despite his health challenges, including regular dialysis treatments, Charlie continued to work full-time and care for his family.
He leaves behind his loving partner of over 20 years, Menne Hall, and his 10-year-old son, Tanoa, who was his greatest joy. Charlie’s dedication to his family, especially his son, was evident in the way he made the most of every moment, even in the face of exhaustion. His devotion extended beyond his family; Charlie was a dear friend to many and had an impact on everyone he met through his work with the City of San Jose and the City of Fremont. He was known for his warmth and his ability to make others feel valued and appreciated.
Aileen Nomaaea, a close friend of the family, has organized a fundraiser to help ease the financial burden on Charlie’s family during this difficult time. Donations have already started coming in, including a generous contribution of $1,000 from Mele Cornwell, and other supporters like Mercedes Reed and Roy Hall III have also shown their love and support.
As Charlie’s family and friends come together to honor his legacy, they are asking for support to help cover funeral expenses and to give his family the space to grieve without the added stress of financial worries. Charlie will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his memory will live on in the hearts of his loved ones.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Charlie Hall’s family, especially Menne and Tanoa, during this incredibly hard time.
