Cecil Vanderver, Arab, Alabama—It is with heavy hearts that the family of Cecil Vanderver announces his passing. Cecil, a beloved friend, father, and husband in the eyes of God, passed away on the morning of Tuesday, September 11, 2024, at 6:30 AM. His passing follows a recent battle with heart complications, including a widow maker heart attack that had led to two stents being placed to unblock severely blocked arteries.
Cecil had been sent home from the hospital and was recovering, but due to financial struggles, not all of his prescribed medications could be obtained in time. His daughter Veronica and her husband made efforts to cover the remaining costs for his medications, but Cecil’s condition deteriorated, and he passed away before they were able to do so.
Cecil Vanderver was deeply loved by his family, friends, and the community. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, crafting, working on cars and small engines, and indulging in his passion for bluegrass gospel and music. He also played the guitar and was an avid fan of drag racing.
To help cover the costs of Cecil’s final expenses, a GoFundMe fundraiser has been set up by Jerryane Hernandez. The funds will go toward funeral arrangements at Goñber Funeral Home in Arab, Alabama, as well as other expenses such as gas for travel, flowers, and the necessary arrangements for Cecil’s service.
Cecil’s family, especially his wife Violeta Perdomo, is devastated by the loss and is seeking support from the community during this difficult time. The fundraiser has set a goal of $3,500, and they are awaiting their first donor. Any contribution, no matter the size, would be greatly appreciated.
Our deepest condolences go out to Cecil Vanderver’s family and loved ones. We pray for peace and comfort for them as they navigate this heartbreaking loss.
