Caryl, who was known for her strength and resilience, had been receiving treatment in and out of the hospital over the past month. Unfortunately, her condition worsened, leading to her untimely passing. She leaves behind a family who had already been through significant hardship, as her husband also passed away recently due to lung cancer.
In the wake of her passing, Caryl’s daughter, Jacqueline Osuna, has created a fundraiser to support the family during this challenging time. The "Caryl Osuna-Simmons Memorial Fund" was initiated on August 16th, 2024, with the goal of raising $15,000 to help cover funeral expenses and alleviate the financial burden on the family. So far, the community has shown its support, raising $1,605 through 28 donations.
The fundraiser has seen contributions from many who knew and loved Caryl. The most recent donation of $50 came from Ladaisha Davis, with the largest donation of $200 from Patty Whitfield. Kiera Starks made the first donation of $30, setting the momentum for the fundraiser.
