Carlos Retana, a cherished member of the Hudson community, has passed away under tragic circumstances. His sudden departure has left a deep void among his family, friends, and everyone who knew him. Carlos was known for his infectious smile and warm hugs, which he generously shared with everyone he met.
A fundraiser has been initiated by Rubi Guzman to support the Retana and Ojeda families during this incredibly difficult time. The goal of the fundraiser is to raise $15,000 to assist with funeral expenses and to provide the family with the support they need. So far, $50 has been raised from one generous donation, but much more is needed to reach the goal.
The heartbreaking incident that led to Carlos’s passing occurred on August 10th, when he was involved in a single-car accident around 1 a.m. Tragically, the car flipped, and Carlos was not at the scene when authorities arrived. His family, after not hearing from him, was forced to search for him on their own after police did not initially inform them of the accident or provide the necessary resources, such as a K-9 unit, to assist in the search. It was only through the tireless efforts of family, friends, and volunteers that Carlos was found two days later.
The Hudson community has shown an outpouring of love and support on social media. Marisol Leyva posted, "RIP Carlos Retana, you will be missed and you will always be in our hearts forever, my four musketeers." Rosy Santos echoed the sentiments of many, expressing deep sorrow over the loss.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to the Retana and Ojeda families during this time of profound grief. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.
