Cameron Johnson, Charleroi, PA—The community is deeply saddened by the passing of Cameron Johnson, who left us on August 11, 2024, after a courageous battle with ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease. Diagnosed in February 2023, Cameron had been experiencing symptoms since the spring of 2022. His fight with this debilitating illness ended peacefully, and he is now at rest, free from suffering.
Cameron was a beloved husband, father, son, and friend. Known for his vibrant personality, he brought light to every room he entered. His love for spending time with family and friends was evident to all who knew him. His passing leaves a void in the hearts of many, and his memory will be cherished forever.
A fundraiser has been organized by his wife, Aubree Hempel, to help cover the funeral expenses and related costs. So far, $220 has been raised out of a $5,000 goal, with donations from generous supporters including Madilyn Ferretti, Adonah Perry, Tom Althoff, and Mollie White. The family is also asking for prayers to support them through this difficult time.
Cameron’s memorial service is scheduled for Thursday, August 22, 2024, at 6 PM at the Christian Center Church in Rostraver, PA, with a dinner to follow.
