Brooklyn Heni Baker, West Jordan, Utah—Brooklyn Heni Baker tragically passed away on Monday, July 29th, 2024, while visiting family and friends in the United States. Brooklyn, fondly known as Heni, was only 41 years old. She had recently battled breast cancer and was given clearance to make the trip to the USA from her home in New Zealand. Unfortunately, her health took a drastic turn for the worse, and she passed away unexpectedly.
Brooklyn’s sudden departure has left her family and friends in deep sorrow. She was known for her spunky, energetic nature, and her zest for life. Her family is now coping with this shocking event and is seeking support for her funeral and burial arrangements.
Angela Head has organized a fundraiser to assist with these expenses. As of now, $550 has been raised out of the $20,000 goal, with donations from Danielle Beatson ($100), Michelle Ormsby ($300), David Smith ($100), and an anonymous donor ($50).
Danielle Beatson, a close cousin, expressed her sorrow on Facebook, stating, "Our beautiful cousin Brooklyn Heni tragically passed from this life to the next while overseas. Any help with funeral expenses would be greatly appreciated."
Matthew Henderson, who knew Brooklyn from their ward, also shared his condolences, mentioning, "Brooklyn was in our ward a few years ago, and I have shared this on our page so our ward members know and can contribute if able."
Brooklyn’s family includes her mother, Dierdrie Reaney, her father, Bruce Baker, her sister, Alena Baker, and her partner, James Patrick. They are all devastated by the loss and are trying to come to terms with this unexpected tragedy.
Brooklyn will be laid to rest in the Orem Cemetery, next to her brother Michael, bringing her back to the family she cherished so much.
