Brook was an exceptional individual, receiving the prestigious Morehead-Cain Scholarship, which enabled her to pursue her studies with full financial support. Her dedication extended beyond her academic achievements, with regular involvement at Morehead throughout the school year. Those who knew Brook admired her for her kind-hearted nature, as she left a lasting impression on everyone she encountered.

Libby Powell, a close friend, shared her heartfelt memories of Brook on Facebook, stating, "Brook Cheuvront was larger than life. She was the kind of person that would make you say, ‘I want to be her when I grow up.’ She was one of the rare Avery County kids who really ‘made it.’ I cannot overstate how beautiful and intelligent she was—someone you only read about or see in movies. This community was lucky enough to see her shine in real life."
