Brian Wingart, Visalia, CA—The community is mourning the passing of Brian Wingart, a man remembered for his warmth, humor, and dedication to his family. Brian, who recently celebrated his 56th birthday on July 24th, passed away on Saturday, September 7th, after a brief but devastating battle with cancer.
Brian had been suffering from severe stomach pain and weight loss before being admitted to the hospital, where he was diagnosed with an aggressive form of pancreatic cancer. Despite being told he had approximately a year to live, his condition deteriorated rapidly, and he passed just days after being given six weeks to live.
Brian’s son, Tyler, who had been his primary caregiver, is now left without his father and in a difficult financial situation. Brian had been the sole provider for the two of them, and without life insurance or other means of support, Tyler now faces the burden of covering funeral and living expenses. A fundraiser, organized by Brian’s sister Dawn Hoffman, has been set up to help alleviate some of this financial strain. As of now, $485 of the $10,000 goal has been raised, with donations coming from kind-hearted friends and family, including Pamala Frey, Amy Zachreus, DeVonne Wingart, Karen Strausser, and Dawn Hoffman.
Brian’s family is heartbroken, especially his elderly parents, who are devastated by the loss of their son. His sister Dawn remembers him as a private and proud man who loved fishing, camping, bowling, and the ocean. Brian’s humor and smirk will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Brian at Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel in Visalia, CA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the GoFundMe campaign to help support Tyler in this difficult time.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the Wingart family during this heartbreaking period.
