Born with several severe health issues due to a rare virus contracted by his mother during pregnancy, Brandon was not expected to live long. Yet, he defied all odds and continued to fight for 26 years, becoming a symbol of strength and determination. His condition included cerebral palsy, epilepsy, blindness, brittle bones, and calcium deposits in his brain, but none of these obstacles could diminish his love for life.
Brandon’s family remembers him for his joyful personality, his love for Johnny Cash, and his fascination with balloons. His favorite moments included singing along to his favorite songs and enjoying the simple pleasure of pressing his face against balloons. More recently, his love for the movie Moana brought him great joy, lighting up his face every time the music began.
Brandon’s care was a family effort, with his grandmother stepping in as his primary caregiver before her passing in 2014. After that, his parents, Nikki and Darrel, and his two brothers, Cody and LD, continued to care for him with unwavering devotion. Brandon was truly the heart of their family, and his bond with his adopted brother, Cody, was particularly special.
In a tragic turn, the family was unaware that their life insurance policy had expired when Brandon turned 26. This unfortunate oversight has left them unprepared for the financial burden of his passing. To cover the costs of Brandon’s cremation, urn, plaque, and funeral arrangements, a fundraiser has been set up by his father, Darrel C. The goal is to bring Brandon home for a while before laying him to rest at the Prineville Cemetery, alongside his grandmother and grandfather.
