Blas Vallejo, Americus, GA— The community mourns the tragic passing of Blas Vallejo, who lost his life in a traffic accident on September 27. Blas, originally from Veracruz, Mexico, was a dedicated notary who had made a life in Americus with his wife Irais Amole and their two sons, Bladimir (19) and Christian (12).
On September 17, Blas was on his way to work when his vehicle was struck by a truck, leaving the car destroyed. He was airlifted to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, GA, but unfortunately never regained consciousness, passing away after 10 days in a coma.
Blas’s wife Irais, now widowed, is left without her husband of 20 years, and she and her children find themselves in a dire situation. With no income, no car, and no home, they are currently staying with some of Blas’s coworkers. To help the grieving family, Irais Amole has set up a fundraiser to cover the costs of repatriating Blas’s remains to his hometown of Veracruz and to assist the family in rebuilding their lives without their beloved father and husband.
Donations have already started coming in, with contributions from anonymous donors and Ana Echevarria. The community is rallying around Irais and her sons, offering support in these incredibly difficult times. Every donation will be used for the repatriation of Blas’s body and for helping the family regain stability.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Irais, Bladimir, Christian, and the entire Vallejo family. May they find peace and strength during this unimaginable time. May Blas rest in peace.
