Beryl Knight, Harlow, Remembering a Loving Mother and Her Brave Battle

Beryl Knight, Harlow—The community is mourning the loss of Beryl Knight, who passed away on Tuesday, 6th August, after a valiant four-year struggle with cancer. Her son, Martin Knight, has organized a fundraiser to cover the funeral expenses, as Beryl left behind no insurance, will, or savings.

Beryl’s journey with cancer began with a diagnosis of bowel cancer, leading to a successful operation to remove most of her large bowel. However, shortly after receiving the all-clear, Beryl faced devastating news that the cancer had spread to her lungs. Despite undergoing additional chemotherapy, the cancer continued to spread, reaching her liver and ultimately her spine. Beryl’s strength and resilience shone through as she continued to support her son and help with childcare until she was physically unable to do so.

Martin Knight’s fundraiser has thus far raised £610 out of the £3,000 goal, with 21 kind-hearted individuals contributing to the cause. Among the donors, Charles Kittoe recently donated £20, an anonymous donor contributed £100 as the top donation, and Kate Allender was the first to donate £50.

The funeral and wake for Beryl Knight are scheduled for Wednesday, 21st August, at Harlow Crematorium. The community’s support is deeply appreciated during this difficult time, and any additional assistance towards the funeral costs would be gratefully received.
