Ana Rivera, originally from Col. Calles, Asientos, Aguascalientes, passed away on October 7th, 2024, leaving behind a grieving family and community. Ana, a devoted wife and mother of three children, Edwin (15), Yahir (11), and Sofia (6), had recently reunited with her husband, Samuel Delgadillo, in the United States after years of separation. In February 2024, she traveled to be with him, bringing their family back together.
Shortly after arriving in the United States, Ana faced an unexpected and devastating challenge when she was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer, with metastasis to her bones. Despite the pain and difficulty, Ana fought bravely through chemotherapy, motivated by her deep faith and love for her children and husband. She faced her illness with courage, always holding on to hope and her unwavering belief in God. Sadly, on October 7th, her body could no longer endure the struggle, and she passed away peacefully.
A fundraiser organized by Cecilia Esquivel is currently raising funds to help cover the funeral costs and to repatriate Ana’s body to her homeland in Mexico for a proper Christian burial. So far, kind donors including Ricardo Rivera, Paulina Robledo, and Maria Guadalupe Esquivel Olvera have contributed to the cause, offering their support to ease the financial burden on Ana’s family.
Ana’s passing is a profound loss for her family, especially her husband Samuel and their children. The community is invited to contribute to the fundraiser, helping ensure that Ana can be laid to rest in her native country and allowing her family to focus on their grief without the added stress of financial difficulties.
We offer our deepest sympathies to Ana’s family during this heartbreaking time. May they find comfort and peace, and may Ana’s memory live on through the love she shared with her family and friends.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the Rivera and Delgadillo families.
