Alvetalecinda "Cinda" Watson, who made her home in South Florida, passed away on September 16th, 2024, following a courageous battle with aggressive lymphoma cancer. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend who touched the hearts of many with her warmth, compassion, and ability to bring people together.
Cinda was born in Bronx, NY, and her journey through life led her to South Carolina before she settled permanently in South Florida. She was a proud mother of four children: DeHaven, Verdell, William Jr., and DeVon, and grandmother to eight grandchildren, lovingly referred to as "Grandma’s babies": Joell, William, Allysia, Zhariah, Ziomara, Mia, Elias, and Amaya. She is remembered fondly for her selflessness and her unwavering support for family and friends, always willing to lend a listening ear or a helping hand.
A fundraiser has been organized by her son, DeVon McFarland, to support the funeral costs and help the family during this difficult time. Out of the $10,000 goal, $400 has been raised so far through the generosity of five donors, including Rebecca Lynn Joyce and Bryanne Burkwalt, each contributing $100.
Shawnis McFarland expressed their sorrow on Facebook, sharing, "We lost my mother-in-law a few days ago to aggressive lymphoma cancer. It all happened so fast. We are in need of help and are reaching out to friends and family for funeral support." Another Facebook user, Renea Kierstead, wrote, "I’m so sorry for your loss, keeping you and your family in my thoughts and prayers."
Alvetalecinda "Cinda" Watson will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, Bobby. Her family and friends are planning a Celebration of Life on Thursday, September 26th, 2024, at 7701 Bailey Rd, North Lauderdale, FL. Cinda will forever be remembered for her dedication to her family and her ability to bring people closer. Her loss leaves a significant void, but her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
