Alma Glenn, Chesapeake, VA— Alma Glenn passed away peacefully early yesterday morning, November 5, 2024, at the age of 68. She passed away surrounded by her loving family at home, including her son James Glenn, his wife, and their three daughters. Alma had been battling cancer for an extended period, ultimately losing her fight after a long and difficult struggle.
Alma’s son, James, who himself had been fighting neck cancer, is now facing significant financial strain. He is asking for assistance to cover the costs of his mother’s final arrangements and a trip to Maine to reunite her with family. Alma had no assets and no life insurance, and James is already dealing with medical bills from his own cancer treatment.
A fundraiser has been created by James to help with the cremation and other necessary expenses, with a target goal of raising the required funds to lay Alma to rest. To date, $150 has been raised, with kind donations from Sharon Staffeldt, Jeff Peterson, and Lisa Andrew.
The family has expressed their devastation at the loss of Alma, particularly as it comes just after major milestones for her grandchildren, with one granddaughter turning 18 and another celebrating her 20th birthday in the past week.
The Glenn family is incredibly grateful for the support they’ve received from friends and community members during this difficult time. Their thoughts and prayers are with Alma as they begin the next steps in this painful journey.
We are deeply saddened to learn of Alma Glenn’s passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family during this difficult time.
