Allan Icban, originally from the Philippines, passed away in France on September 16, 2024, leaving behind a grieving family. Allan moved to France more than nineteen years ago, searching for better opportunities for his wife and six children. Throughout his life, he worked hard to support them, ensuring they had food, shelter, and education. Allan was known for his kindness, generosity, and a constant smile, which will be dearly missed by those who knew him.
In recent years, Allan had been suffering from severe illness, battling complications from tuberculosis and kidney failure. Despite his determination and strength, he was unable to recover. His passing came with the heartbreak that he couldn’t reunite with his family in the Philippines during his illness. Allan was alone in France without any immediate relatives, and now his family is faced with the difficult task of bringing him home for a proper burial in the Philippines.
Marites Mersch, Allan’s sister, has organized a fundraiser to assist with the costly expenses of sending Allan’s remains back to his family. The family, who remains in the Philippines, struggles financially but remains full of love for the man who gave everything to provide for them.
As of now, the fundraiser has raised $735 out of a $25,000 goal, with donations coming from friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers. Joseph Camilo, Belinda Icban, Rowena Salazar, Randy Icban, and an anonymous donor have contributed generously. The family hopes that with the support of their community and beyond, they can bring Allan home and give him the farewell he deserves.
Allan will be remembered as a loving father, devoted husband, and a man who always put others before himself. His family, friends, and all who knew him are heartbroken by this loss, but his memory will live on in their hearts.
