Alice Chiveral, Dundalk, MD— Alice Chiveral, a beloved community member and former pastor, passed away on December 28, 2024. Her sudden decline, following a rapid deterioration in health, has left family and friends heartbroken.
Just days before her passing, Alice was rushed to Franklin Square after her oxygen levels dropped despite being on continuous oxygen support. She was later transferred to Union Memorial, where her condition worsened, leading to multiple organ failures and the diagnosis of COVID, pneumonia, sepsis, and shock. Alice passed away surrounded by her loved ones, just before the family planned to end life support.
Alice, who had long battled COPD and emphysema, was known for her lifelong commitment to helping others. She ran food pantries, prayed for the community, and offered her time and love to all those around her. Her legacy of compassion and generosity impacted many.
The family is now asking for support to help cover funeral expenses, as Alice was unable to afford life insurance due to her health and fixed income. A GoFundMe page was created by her granddaughter Kaitlyn Roberts to help with the immediate costs. As of now, $160 has been raised with contributions from community members.
Terry Sean Bryant, a close friend, shared on Facebook: "We are so thankful for the friends and family sending us thoughts of healing and peace."
Alice’s passing has left a significant void in the lives of those who knew her. Her vibrant spirit and devotion to others will be remembered by all who were touched by her kindness.
We extend our deepest condolences to the Chiveral family and offer our prayers for comfort and strength during this difficult time.
