Alexander Robert Berthelsen, Park Rapids, MN — The community is mourning the loss of Alexander Robert Berthelsen, who passed away recently at the age of 32. Alex, as he was affectionately known, was diagnosed with Stage 4 Rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare and aggressive cancer, on his 31st birthday. Despite the severity of his illness, Alex remained hopeful and made a selfless decision to donate his body to the Science program at the University of Minnesota, aspiring to contribute to future cancer research and cures.

Alex’s mother, Amy Venzke, has organized a fundraiser to help cover the expenses for his urns and his last wish of having a Celebration of Life party in his hometown of Park Rapids, MN. The fundraiser also aims to support Alex’s wife, Katie, with medical bills not covered by insurance.
