Alex Brown, Tucson, AZ — Alex Brown, cherished by family and friends, has passed away after an extended and courageous fight following a traumatic incident. His family mourns a profound loss, reflecting on the strength and resilience he demonstrated throughout his life.
The tragic events unfolded on September 27, 2024, when Alex sustained four serious wounds. Despite valiant efforts from the medical team at St. Joseph Hospital, he faced immense challenges, including surgeries to remove his spleen and repair his diaphragm. After complications arose, he was transferred to Banner University Hospital for intensive care using an ECMO system. Alex endured numerous treatments, including 15 bronchoscopies, to support his compromised lungs. Sadly, on October 19, 2024, despite every effort, his lungs were unable to recover.
Gabriela Montijo, Alex’s sister, has organized a fundraiser to honor his memory and meet the family’s financial needs for his remembrance. With Alex being one of eight siblings, he leaves behind a grieving family, including three sisters and four brothers, all of whom remember his loving and optimistic spirit. They recall his courage, his ability to overcome challenges, and the joy he brought to their lives.
The family is grateful for any support from the community, whether through donations or prayers, as they honor Alex’s life and spirit.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to Alex Brown’s family and friends. May his memory bring peace and comfort in this difficult time.
