Alesia Bell, Rio Rancho, NM— Alesia Bell passed away on December 2, 2024, after a courageous 15-year battle with cancer. She was a beloved educator at Seven Bar Elementary, where she inspired many through her strength, positivity, and unwavering smile.
Alesia’s battle with cancer began in 2009, and for the next decade and a half, she underwent numerous treatments including radiation, chemotherapy, clinical trials, and surgeries. Despite her numerous challenges, Alesia remained a source of strength for her family and community. Her husband, Roger, stood by her side throughout, supporting her as cancer continually reappeared in different areas.
Alesia’s legacy extends beyond her role as a teacher. She was a passionate crafter and gave generously to volunteer work, especially in rescuing dogs. She is remembered for her kindness, laughter, and the joy she brought to those around her. In her final act, Alesia donated her body to cancer research, a testament to her lifelong commitment to helping others.
To honor Alesia’s memory, a life celebration is planned for January. In the meantime, her friends and family have organized a fundraiser to assist with the costs of the event. Donations are being accepted through a GoFundMe page, with all funds directed towards supporting the family during this difficult time.
