Albert Edward Lamaye Sr, Middlesex, NC— Albert Edward Lamaye Sr, known fondly as Al and Pa to those who loved him, passed away on November 5th, 2024, at 5:30 pm after a brave and long battle with prostate cancer. Al, a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, fought his illness with strength and determination, even as the disease spread to his liver and lungs.
A proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, Al served as a Master Gunnery Sergeant during the Vietnam Era. His family describes him as a hardworking and loving figure who always put his family first. Despite his health challenges, he continued to work tirelessly to provide for them until the very end.
Al is survived by his wife, Kathy LaMaye, his brother, Carl LaMaye, and a large and loving family that will miss him dearly. His children, stepchildren, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren will forever carry on his memory. His family shared that in his final days, Al was surrounded by loved ones, offering comfort and solace. Although they are heartbroken by his passing, they find some peace in knowing he is no longer in pain.
In honor of his memory, a fundraiser has been set up to assist with the cremation and related expenses. Due to unforeseen circumstances, Al did not have life insurance, and the family is now seeking support during this difficult time.
We extend our deepest condolences to the LaMaye family. Our thoughts and prayers are with them as they navigate this loss.
