Adam Topol, Melville, NY—The community is grieving the loss of Adam Topol, who passed away peacefully on July 25th, 2024. Adam was a devoted husband to Eileen Fitzsimmons and a loving father to their daughter, Charlotte. His passing has left a profound void in the lives of those who knew and loved him.
Adam had been battling Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL) for over six years. While he initially responded well to treatment, his condition took a turn in March 2024 when the illness spread to his Central Nervous System (CNS), leading to a diagnosis of Leptomeningeal Disease (LMD), a rare and terminal complication. Despite the challenges, Adam fought courageously every day for his family, but his health further declined after a grand mal seizure in June. After several complications, he spent his last days in the ICU with Eileen by his side.
To support Eileen and Charlotte during this incredibly difficult time, a fundraiser has been organized by an anonymous benefactor. The funds raised will help cover the extensive costs that have accumulated, including home health care, childcare, funeral expenses, and Eileen’s unpaid time off from work. The community has rallied together, raising $8,027 of the $20,000 goal, with donations ranging from $50 to $1,000.
Adam Topol will be remembered for his strength, his dedication to his family, and the love he shared with those around him. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of his loved ones.
We are deeply saddened by the loss of Adam Topol. Our thoughts and prayers are with Eileen, Charlotte, and their entire family during this challenging time.
