In a tragic event, while out fishing alone, Adam’s boat motor failed. He managed to reach a small island about 15 kilometers from the mainland and called friends for help. Impatient and determined, Adam decided to swim the distance to the mainland, but sadly, he did not make it. His body was recovered several days later.
Though Adam had no biological children, he became a significant father figure to the children of his close friend, Lynda Hill. Adam stepped into the role at Father’s Day events, Christmas celebrations, and other family moments, ensuring that no child he cared for went without support or love. Lynda fondly remembers him as her hero, best friend, and brother.
A memorial service will be held on October 12, 2024, to celebrate Adam’s life and the memories he leaves behind. His ashes, brought back to the Sunshine Coast by his closest friends, will be returned to the reef that gave him so much joy in his final years.
