Zachary Beaudet, Young Westminster Resident, Dies Tragically During Police Encounter at Age 22

Zachary Beaudet, 22, passed away on Monday, March 24th, in a tragic police shooting in Westminster, MA, leaving family, friends, and the local community in mourning.

Officers arrived at a residence on South Ashburnham Road around 4:42 p.m. to serve a warrant when they encountered Beaudet holding a large knife. As he moved toward the officers, they discharged their firearms, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Beaudet had faced legal challenges in the past, including a 2025 arrest related to possession of illegal material, for which he served probation. Family members have noted that he struggled with hearing difficulties and depression following that arrest.
