Community Remembers William Jolan Wyche After Early Morning Single Vehicle Crash in Austin Minnesota on June 11 2026
William Jolan Wyche, 21, lost their life before dawn on Thursday, June 11, 2026, in Austin, Minnesota.
Austin Police Department officers responded at about 3:18 a.m. to East Oakland Avenue and 10th Street Southeast after reports of a serious single vehicle crash.
Authorities found a silver Ford Fusion that had struck the center concrete support of an overhead bridge.
Investigators said Wyche was the only person inside the vehicle, and emergency responders pronounced Wyche deceased at the scene.
Police identified Wyche through a Florida driver’s license and listed the last known address as Rochester, Minnesota, about 40 miles north of Austin.
Early findings indicated that speed played a major role, and investigators reported no signs of braking or attempted avoidance before the bridge support was struck.
The Minnesota State Patrol assisted Austin Police, with support from the Austin Fire Department and Mayo Ambulance.
Family members will announce obituary and funeral service details at a later time.
