Born at just 23 weeks and weighing a little over one pound, Mark faced major medical challenges from the start.
Family members said Mark remained joyful while using a breathing tube and feeding port and needing round-the-clock care.
Lisa and Mark Sr. supported Mark through each day and watched the child overcome many difficult moments.
Recent medical tests and a later examination did not provide a clear answer for the heart condition that ended Mark’s life.
The family also remembered sibling Violet, who passed away four years ago under nearly the same circumstances as a micro-preemie.
