Marjorie Rottier, DeMotte Christian Schools Class Of 2025 Student, Remembered After June 8, 2026 Road Accident In Jasper County
Marjorie Rottier, also remembered as Jorie Rottier, of Lowell, Indiana, passed away on June 8, 2026, after a multi-vehicle road accident in Jasper County, Indiana.
Authorities reported that the crash happened at about 12:17 p.m. on State Road 10 near County Road 1100 West in DeMotte.
Investigators said 19-year-old Marjorie Rottier drove a 2006 Mini Cooper with two juvenile passengers when the vehicle was struck from behind by a 2013 Ford Fusion driven by 26-year-old Kiana Bessette of Wheatfield.
Officials said the impact moved the Mini Cooper into the opposite lane, where it was struck by a 2024 Ford F-150 driven by 45-year-old Lori Asztalos of Lowell.
The Ford Fusion later collided with a 2019 Ford Flex driven by 64-year-old Penny Diehl of Rensselaer.
Emergency teams responded, and several people received transport to trauma centers in Crown Point, Indiana, and Kankakee, Illinois.
DeMotte Christian Schools remembered Marjorie as a kind student whose faith and gentle spirit touched classmates, teachers, family, and the wider community.
