Jordan Thoms, Beloved Leader of Ottawa’s Running Community, Passes Away

It is with great sorrow that the Ottawa community mourns the loss of Jordan Thoms, a dedicated leader and cherished friend. Jordan’s passing on March 27th, 2026, has left a profound void in the hearts of all who knew him, particularly those involved in the local running scene.

As the run lead for the Sparks Street Run Club, Jordan was more than an organizer—he was the heart and soul of the group. His ability to unite people, regardless of their experience, made every run an opportunity for connection, encouragement, and growth. Jordan’s unwavering positivity and warmth created an environment where every participant felt valued and supported.

Originally from Prince George, British Columbia, Jordan brought a spirit of community wherever he went. His love for people was evident in the lasting relationships he built, both in the running world and beyond. Jordan’s legacy lives on in the bonds he fostered and the kindness he shared with all.

Jordan is survived by his loving mother, Marlene, and his brothers, Ryan Malchow and Garrett Thoms. To his family, our deepest condolences. The upcoming memorial run will celebrate Jordan’s remarkable life, ensuring that his memory continues to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him.
