Jeremy Lamar Bennett passed away on April 26, 2026, after an after-prom gathering along US Highway 146 in Polk County, Texas, took a devastating turn.
Deputies with the Polk County Sheriff’s Office responded around 1:07 a.m. after dispatchers received urgent calls from the residence where a large crowd had gathered.
First responders found Jeremy, age 20, critically hurt and immediately began life-saving care at the scene.
Emergency crews transported Jeremy to CHI Livingston Hospital, where medical staff continued treatment, but they later pronounced Jeremy deceased.
