Hankyu Kim, a respected Professor of Conservation Biology and Ornithology at Kyung Hee University, passed away suddenly this past Monday due to a blood infection, leaving his wife Minsu and their one-year-old daughter Seoyoung heartbroken.
Hankyu was a long-standing member of the scientific community, known for his groundbreaking research on old-growth forests and long-term bird population trends in South Korea. From 2017 to 2021, he led the bird population crew during his PhD field research at the HJ Andrews, earning admiration for his dedication and passion.
