Frankie Upton Remembered After Craighead County Highway 1 Accident That Also Injured Tammy Upton, Jean Goza, and Bobby Goza
Frankie Upton, 76, of Walnut Ridge, passed away after a head-on accident in Craighead County on Saturday night, according to the Arkansas State Police.
The accident happened at about 10:15 p.m. on Highway 1 near Allen Hester Road, where a 2002 Buick LeSabre traveling south crossed the centerline and met a northbound 2020 Cadillac XT4.
Jean Goza drove the Cadillac, which left the road and overturned after the impact.
Emergency responders arrived quickly, and Tammy Upton, Jean Goza, and Bobby Goza received care before transport to St. Bernards Medical Center and NEA Baptist Hospital.
A medical helicopter also assisted with the response due to the seriousness of the scene.
Officials reported clear weather and a dry road at the time, and Arkansas State Police continue to review the circumstances.
