Elisa Laura Plancarte, Beloved Maidencreek Township Resident, Dies After Vehicle Crash in Reading, PA
Elisa Laura Plancarte, a 38-year-old resident of Maidencreek Township, tragically passed away on April 29, 2026, after succumbing to injuries sustained in a devastating vehicle crash on Hampden Boulevard in Reading, Pennsylvania. The incident occurred on April 26, when the vehicle she was traveling in struck a building, causing severe damage.
Plancarte, a passenger at the time, became trapped inside the wreckage, and emergency responders from the Reading Fire Department worked tirelessly to extricate her from the vehicle. She was then rushed to Tower Health/Reading Hospital for medical treatment. Despite all efforts, Plancarte was pronounced dead at 9:46 a.m. on April 29.
"Elisa will be deeply missed by all who knew her," said Berks County Coroner Matthew J. Stitzel. "Our thoughts are with her loved ones during this incredibly difficult time."
Friends and family have shared their grief online, with many expressing their shock and sadness at the loss. "Elisa was such a kind and caring person, and this is an unbearable loss," one friend wrote on social media.
An autopsy has been scheduled for April 30, 2026, at Tower Health/Reading Hospital to determine the official cause of death.
The Berks County Coroner's Office, along with the Reading Police Department, is continuing the investigation into the crash.
