Cathy Lynn Erickson, 71, of Bushland, TX, Tragically Killed in Car Crash on Bushland Road
Cathy Lynn Erickson, 71, of Bushland, Texas, passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2026, following a devastating collision on Bushland Road. The accident involved a semi-truck and a pickup truck.
Authorities from the Texas Department of Public Safety reported that the semi-truck had been stopped at a stop sign on the I-40 Service Road, attempting to turn north onto Bushland Road.
As the semi truck tried to make the turn, Erickson's pickup, traveling southbound on Bushland Road, collided with the semi at the intersection.
Erickson was pronounced dead at the scene, and her passenger, 69-year-old Sheri Ann Centner of Colorado, was rushed by LifeStar to Northwest Texas Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The semi-truck driver, 41-year-old Ricardo Aguinaga of Dumas, sustained serious injuries and was transported to BSA Medical Center for treatment.
As authorities continue to investigate the crash, the loss of Cathy has deeply affected the community.
