Brian Hurst, Esteemed Attorney and Devoted Father, Passes Away at Age 50 in Chicago, IL

It is with profound sadness that we report the passing of Brian Hurst, a respected attorney, loving father, and cherished member of the Chicago community. Brian tragically passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, dedication, and hard work.

Known for his sharp legal mind, Brian built a successful family law practice that touched the lives of countless clients. His commitment to justice and the well-being of others was unwavering. Outside of his professional accomplishments, Brian was deeply devoted to his family. His three sons—Evan, Jonathan, and Joey—were the center of his world. His love for them was evident in every interaction, and he took immense pride in their achievements.

Brian is also survived by his brother, Matthew Hurst, sister-in-law Mandy Zaransky-Hurst, and nieces Magnolia and Annika. His former wife, Nancy Cohen Hurst, remained a close and supportive co-parent, working alongside Brian to provide a loving environment for their children.

A passionate musician, Brian loved to play guitar and cherished moments spent with his sons, traveling, exploring new cuisines, and enjoying live music together. His signature bratwurst gatherings brought family and friends together in joyful celebration.

Brian’s memorial service will take place on Friday, March 27, 2026, at 1:00 pm at Weinstein & Piser Funeral Home in Wilmette, IL. Friends and loved ones are invited to join the family for a celebratory toast in his honor at Macushla Brewing Company from 2:00 to 5:00 pm.

His warm spirit, sense of humor, and dedication to those he loved will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know him.
